San Pedro is absolutely gorgeous in the daytime, and it's filled with hippies! So it's pretty much home to me. I'm in a small European restaurant where they have free wi-fi for customers. I got a giant lemonade. The restaurant/cafe overlooks the lake and the mountains and it's just so beautiful that it makes up for the horrible bathrooms and showers at my hotel. Today we had the entire day to do whatever we wanted to do, so I walked around the town with a bunch of people and checked out the lake. We had pina coladas at a French-owned restaurant where you sit in little huts outside and they take a really long time to bring out food and drinks, so you can just relax and play with the puppy there and talk. This whole place is completely mellow and it's great. All the hippies sell their jewelry on the streets to make a living. I've got to go meet up with people at a restaurant before we begin New Years festivities, so I'll get to photos and happy New Years, everyone!
We begin with proof that this is truly a hippie town:

The view from the docks on Lake Atitlan:

More from the docks:

It's a pretty run-down place, but still pretty:

This guy really wanted me to take a photo of him:

Cobblestone streets:

These flowers are everywhere:

Trippy buildings:

Puppy!

Welcome to the Mayan world!

And finally, another view over Lake Atitlan:

And that's it for today! Adios!
