This map covers the Lake Atitlan area of Guatemala, which is where pretty much all of my time on this trip will be spent. Nifty.
From December 27th, 2007 to January 18th, 2008, I'll be traveling to villages around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala with a fair trade organization from Columbia University called Dream Weavers. Our group is comprised of artists of all kinds - painters, writers, dancers, photographers, etc. - each of whom will be working on a project of her own design over the course of three weeks. While there, I will be working on photo projects about sustainable development and cultural traditions in Guatemala.
We will be staying in San Pedro for the majority of the trip, with several day trips to local villages, volcanoes, medicine trails, etc., and one three-day hiking trip in the mountains from Nebaj to Todos Santos. Here's a satellite map of the area, as well, with the arrow pointing to San Pedro:
To learn more about Dream Weavers, go here. They do a lot of cool stuff.
Well, this'll be my only pre-Guatemalan post, so probably see ya on the 28th. :)

My dear adventurous daughter it sounds like you are having an amazing experience. I think the bathroom situation would be more then I could handle! The pictures are amazing, and I can't wait until I can see them all! I miss you and sorry but I can't help worrying. (it's a mother thing) Talk to you soon. Love you pookie!
I wish that I could just come and get you, but I know that's not possible. I'll change your flight again if you can just get to Guatemala City. Come home ASAP and let me spoil the heck out of you!!!!
Hang in there pookie!
